No, the card case or the mat has nothing to do with it either. It's just the heart, the bag, and the cards.

 

EFFECT: A participant is shown a bag with a "special gift from a child that really made my heart smile."

Out of the bag is removed a handful of blank cards with brightly colored stickers on them.

The cards are given to the participant and told to name any number of the cards, 1-6 inclusive.

The participant themselves deals the cards and lands on a sticker. This count is a real counting and no funny business. NOT "I said between one and six" or counting the name of the number or any of that other nonsense.

Everyone can see all the cards are different and examine the cards. The participant themselves deal and count to a sticker.

Perhaps the participant dealt themselves a HEART sticker card (it could be something else.)

The bag is opened and the performer takes out a toy heart from the bag!

The bag can also be examined, as well as the cards.
