The spectator holds a blank card between their hands and is told to envision or imagine every detail of that card. When they feel they have made a solid impression in their mind, they lift their hand. The card named is the very card now in between their hands.

The rest of the deck may remain blank, turned into a regular deck and be examined, all without deck switches or difficult sleight of hand.
