Bent Glass Test
- Kenton's Clever Approach
- Avoids Common Issues
- Apparently Test Conditions
This is Kenton Knepper's handling or an effect by his friend Ted Lesley.
in 2026 Kenton is releasing elements of his classic performing material. This is one.
EFFECT:
Two velvet bags are given to a participant to hold.
"I want to show you how I do this under test conditions. First of all, you never know what they are going to put in those bags. Second, it has to be a random act... So hand me one."
The participant hands one bag to the performer who opens the bag to reveal a real glass drinking glass with a stem. This is handed out to the audience to examine.
"Tonight it seems we have glasses in the bags, and you decided to hold on to that particular bag. I will do my best."
The performer makes motions near the bag the participant holds. A somewhat similar drinking glass is removed from the chosen bag.
"You can see the glass here is a little bent," the performer says to the participant. The participant agrees. "But now we take it to the next level."
The performer holds the glass between the hands, and then at the fingertips. The audience barely noticed anything happen to the glass before, but now it is clear to everyone the glass is being severely bent!
Kenton performed this recently for a group of performers, and still got gasps and applause.
We know you will too when you perform this for your audience.
